In a recent update, the PlayStation 4 said that its next generation console, codenamed Project Morpheus, would arrive this October.
The news came from Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida, who confirmed it during a panel at the Tokyo Game Show.
The next-gen console would be based on a next-generation chip called the Pascal architecture.
It would be powered by Pascal’s new 28nm FinFET manufacturing process, and would also feature an improved power-management system that could lower power consumption in the event of a power failure.
The first Morpheus hardware is expected to launch this fall.
