A new toy and a brand new theme park, it’s the start of an interesting year for Disney’s Industrial Revolution

Walt Disney Co., which has been building its theme parks, resorts and theme parks around the world, is preparing to open an industrial park and theme park near Disneyland.
The park, which is part of a planned expansion of Disneyland Resort to its current capacity of 9 million, will be called Industrial Revolution: A Toy for Tomorrow and will be built in a newly developed site that will eventually be used to build a theme park on top of Disneyland.
In addition to the theme park and a new industrial park, the company plans to build an attraction park near the existing park, as well as a retail space and an entertainment complex, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
Disney and the city of Anaheim, California, are developing the park to open later this year and the expansion to be finished in 2019.
The city, which opened Disneyland in 1892, is not included in the expansion.
The expansion, which will be similar to the first Disney theme park opened in 1882, is the biggest of a new wave of major expansion plans for Disneyland and Walt Disney World, which are expected to be complete in the next few years.
Disney, which has operated theme parks in Asia, Europe and North America since the 1950s, has not yet announced the name of the new theme parks.
The company has said it will not expand its theme park into Asia, although it has announced plans to open its first Asian-themed theme park in 2019 in Shanghai, China.
The Disneyland Resort will be expanded by more than 30,000 people and include a new resort hotel and hotel-style restaurants, as part of the expansion, The Journal reported.
Walt Disney and his family own more than $3.6 trillion worth of stock in Disney stock, according to Forbes.
The stock has been up almost 300% this year, and Disney is the most valuable publicly traded company in the world.
